Job Purpose
Lineman professionals at SpikeX are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground power lines. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and safety of electrical infrastructure while working in collaboration with engineers, Senior Authorized Persons, and ground crews.
Principle Accountabilities
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
- Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground power lines.
- Perform troubleshooting and emergency repairs as needed.
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
- Conduct risk assessments, ensuring safety barriers and warning signs are in place.
- Assist with the installation and setup of electrical systems.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Proven experience as a lineman or in a similar role.
- Valid lineman certification or equivalent training.
- Ability to climb poles and work at elevated heights.
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety protocols.
- Good physical stamina and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in English for effective communication.
Desirable
- Ability to work as part of a team, often coordinating with engineers, Senior Authorised Persons, and ground crews.
- UKPN authorisation (preferred, but candidates willing to obtain certification are encouraged to apply).
